Wellcome to the Homepage of the DVO-Guidelines.The following Pocket Version and Executive Summary are part of the 2006 update of the DVO guideline on prevention, diagnosis and therapy of osteoporosis in women after menopause and for men after age 60. The DVO (Dachverband Osteologie) is the joint organization of the scientific societies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which are predominantly or with a scientific focus involved in bone research. The full version of the guideline is currently only available in German language.
The guideline is based on a systematic literature search until February 2005 and an interdisciplinary internal and external consensus process. The next update is scheduled for 2009. This guideline is addressed to all physicians in primary care and all other physicians who treat patients with osteoporosis.
